A journey between two destinations.
A time spent traveling between experiences and places.
The people you meet, the stories you hear, the things you see in that moment that takes you away, the feeling you get that you don’t have to pay, when this comes about, there is nothing to say.
Take a deep breath, deep down, down below, then stand there and look while you let it all go, go, go.
Feel for a moment the breeze coming to take your worries away and what will be, will be and we won’t be able to change any way.
Big eagle flies high up in the sky, drifting around without sound, looking what he can see.
Down on the ground, lunch he has found and he’ll snatch it up and take it to his tree.
The day is almost done just out of Jurien Bay.
We have come to sit and look at the colours there with the going down of the sun.
Our journey is under way, Perth to Darwin is still a long way, what a first day is has become.
The Pinnacles’ sculptures, they are unusual to see and formed by rivers, wind and sea.
Perth’s time has come to have a drink.
Everything slows down when the cold comes around, when the leaves leave the trees, clouds cover the sun and winter has begun.
Kalbarri is a little town by the sea, where you can ride a horse down a path, across the river and through the grass, take a trip in a canoe and see what things come out to you. Animals and plants you will see, stop half way for a cuppa tea, sit and relax, look around, have a swim so you can cool down.
Something to eat, cooked breakfast for a treat, what a morning!
Darwin is getting closer but Monkey Mia is the next town with camping on the beach and dolphins jumping all around.
The weather is not as cold now and the sun smiles warmer, emu’s walking around in this quiet little town, camped up on the beach, sea breeze in the air, this is what it feels like to be a millionaire.
Fresh fish for a feed, what more do you need.
Not all that far away from Perth, Darwin is still a long way and I think after tomorrow we will leave the next day.
Lots of things to see, some we can’t believe from how old the stromolites have been living to the billions of little shells making a beach.
A special place is Shark Bay.
We’re off to see Carnarvon, where everybody is farming tomatoes, beans, grapes, melons and mangoes too just to mention a few.
Growen on the Gascoyne, where the water comes from afar, to grow the town that it has found.
Traveling out of Carnarvon, what a sight to see where there’s red sand and scrub, what else could there be?
Goats running wild out in front of me, chewing on trees very happily.
Cattle walking out on the road in front of me, beep the horn and flash the lights, look out I can’t see.
It’s time to camp the night, the day’s come to an end. Out back in the sand dune, the night we will spend.
Listening to the waves crashing on the beach, as I fall into a deep, deep sleep.
The West Australian coast line, what a place to be.
Outback camping and only 4WD’s to see, all for adventure fun for you and me.
Up spurts the water, there are whales over there, jumping and splashing without any care.
Rough and rugged the W.A. coast is but to see things like this, you just wouldn’t want to miss.
Tour the W.A. coast and watch it being pounded by the sea, watch the Pt. Quobba blowholes shoot water up at me.
Stepping back from the watery spray there’s a rainbow you can see.
Heading to Coral Bay, what will we see, lots of hardy plants that live out all this way and not much rain to give’m all a drink, only sun and heat, which is pretty hard to beat.
The land, the sun and sand, like sitting in a frying pan.
The plants stand strong durable and long, some carrying a feed.
Hard wood to burn, good coals in return that glow for a while in a big pile, ready to cook a feed.
Ready to go, what’s something we can cook nice and slow?
A nice vegetable stew I think that’s what we will do, onions and garlic with kangaroo, some herbs, potatoes, pumpkin and carrots too.
Getting closer to Darwin, Broome is half way but Karrijini will be the next place along the way.
Time for a change, as we drive away heading inland to find another day.
Waterfalls, swimming holes, and fresh water we can play.
Karrijini, in this outback camp, what a place to stay and by camping under the stars, there’s not much more to do, look up and see what we can find, shooting stars and different planet’s, it really powers the mind.
Heading out towards Port Hedland, heat and red dust on the way and see the long, kilometres long trains carrying iron ore the same way.
There’s much, much more to this journey then I can really say.
If you come along then I’m sure you’ll feel it the very same way.
